Sal Alfonso Hernández Estrada (born January 15, 1964) is a Mexican musician, writer, poet, composer, and the main vocalist of Jaguares and Caifanes, two renowned Mexican rock en espaol bands.

On January 15, 1964, Saal Hernández was born in Mexico City's Colonia Guerrero area. He lost his mother at a young age, and he claimed that this early encounter with death inspired many of the songs he has composed. Caifanes' antecedent was Las Insólitas Imágenes de Aurora, his first band.
